This website is hosted by Robert Wurtz II. This blog is intended to be a means of putting into writing some of my musings about New Testament Christianity in a post modern culture. We are instructed in scripture to, "Gird up the loins of our minds."
Lot was a just man, but there was something about him that caused him to hang around in a city that was one of the most wicked in world history. He was even carried off one time by the enemy as spoils of war and God had to send Abraham to save him. Why stay? Why keep putting yourself through all of this? Eventually, God had to send an angel to practically drag him out as he was about to rain judgment down on them.
God designed humankind to be a temple for him to dwell in. However, when Adam sinned in the garden of Eden, he opened the door to other spirits coming in and inhabiting humankind as well. We are born with the spirit of disobedience working in us (Ephesians 2:1f) and if we open the door to the enemy, we may become demon possessed. When we turn to Christ and repentance, God will set us free from any demonic stronghold that may exist in our life, but our temple must be filled with the Holy Spirit or we risk coming under a worse form of possession than before.
